Camana Bay Grand Cayman / 2017

The Camana Bay Master Plan establishes a clear vision for the landscape of Camana Bay Block 7, one that builds directly on the strengths of the existing district while setting a new standard for future development.

A careful reading of how current spaces perform, how people move, gather, linger, and inhabit them, reveals the patterns that make Camana Bay successful. These insights form the foundation for Block 7, ensuring that new interventions are not isolated moves, but part of a larger, coherent landscape system.

Block 7 is conceived as a distinct Live–Work district: a place where daily life, commerce, and social exchange are seamlessly integrated within a highly curated public realm.

The framework advances several core directives:

  • Extend and evolve the “Four Bands” framework to reinforce spatial clarity and identity

  • Strengthen connectivity between Block 7 and the Town Center, prioritizing intuitive pedestrian flow

  • Introduce new landscape programs that complement and amplify existing uses

  • Continue Camana Bay’s rich horticultural tradition with layered, immersive planting strategies

  • Shape unique spatial experiences through subtle topography and close integration with architecture

  • Explore new material palettes that expand the district’s visual and tactile language

The result is not an extension, but an evolution, one that feels inevitable within the larger Camana Bay narrative while introducing new energy, program, and identity.
